LG gracefully stepped to the platform at CES 2016 and introduced a new piece to the SmartThinq automated home system. The new LG SmartThinQ Hub is the brains of your smart home. It can control nearly all of your devices similarly to the way the Amazon Echo can. While LG failed to provide a working demo at the Convention Center, they proudly state that the LG SmartThinQ Hub can pair and control appliances, stream music, display information (such as events, reminders, weather & etc) and much more. The canister sized body comes equipped with a built-in 3.5-inch LCD screen (hopefully touchscreen). There is no word on costs, release dates or spec sheets but we can expect to hear something by Spring time this year. Until then check out the LG press release below.
