Microsoft just added another level of security to OneDrive, the folks at Redmond wants your mind to be at rest knowing that your documents are in safe hands. The latest update for Microsoft’s OneDrive alerts you when someone is editing your shared documents through a mobile notification or a daily summary email.

Not only have we made it really easy to access and edit shared content, but we are also adding two new ways to be notified when people edit your shared documents so you can keep track of the changes others are making. On your mobile device, the OneDrive app will show real-time notifications of which document is being edited and who edited it – these notifications can also show up on your Apple Watch. Also, we’ll email a daily summary of edits to files you’ve shared – this is especially powerful when you are working on a group project and want to quickly see which documents have a latest version you might not be aware of.Jason Moore- Group Program Manager, OneDrive

If OneDrive is your choice of cloud storage, you’ll be happy to know that the recent update for sharing synced folders now lets you search files that have been shared with you too. If any changes are made by an authorized or unauthorized individual, the changes will be saved in its version history, so you can always go back and restore a previous version. The have currently begun rolling out, so you should expect it to hit your device in coming weeks.
