Yahoo Livetext

Yahoo introduces a new way to communicate with your friends in a new, spontaneous, convenient and memorable way via video messaging. Yahoo Livetext does just that, it helps you communicate easily with the continuity, simplicity and ease of texting along with the soulfulness that can only be experienced in person via video, but this time, without the audio. Now I know that it sounds odd (pun intended) but Yahoo is perfect for those moments when you can’t speak, yet you want to get your point across while being seen via video. Such as an “I Love You” text message from your significant other while in a meeting or class. Or talking to a disabled person that can’t hear or speak clearly.

Yahoo Livetext

“Yahoo Livetext puts your words and your friend’s real-time reactions at the center of your conversation. Whether you’re watching Avicii DJ at the Creamfields Festival, at Venice Beach or taking in the view from the Eiffel Tower, you can spontaneously connect with the people you care about and invite them to experience moments with you. Your friend’s goofy look or giant smile, even her eye roll or silent sigh, suddenly become a part of your conversation. Simple conversations are transformed into vivid, authentic and memorable experiences that you can share anytime.”

Yahoo Livetext wants you to live video text as much as you want because they are making it free to the public forever. It’s only suited for those one-on-one conversations because it combines both text and live video at the same time. Friends can be added via sharing your Yahoo Livetext ID or connecting your address book and you will need an internet connection (via carrier or Wi-Fi). Although it is similar to Snapchat, I think that Yahoo will bring its own messaging experience to the table with this app.

Yahoo Livetext is now available in the iTunes App Store, connect with your friends today!
