Meet Recon Jet, I’d like to call it the “body building version” of Google’s Glass. Recon is the company that brought you the MOD ski google inserts, the Recon Jet is a heads-up display that is built into a sunglasses frame. It has dual core processor, dedicated graphics, Wi-Fi, ANT+, Bluetooth, GPS, HD camera, and a comprehensive suite of sensors. The Recon Jet is open sourced too, which gives Developers quick and easy interaction with Jet’s hardware. It comes with a couple of cool features like the patented gaze detection that turns the heads-up display on when you need it, interchangeable batteries which make them perfect competition for Glass. The Recon Jet would be released sometime this year, to be priced somewhere around $400 to $600. There’s no denying it, wearable heads-up displays are here to stay, and it’s really cool for users to have options to choose from.
