It’s been nearly two years now since we’ve seen single-cabled USB powered monitors. Even ASUS has made one that was 15.6-inches, the ASUS MB168B+ and the MB169B+. It makes sense now that they decide to update their monitors to the new USB Type-C cords. ASUS plans to be the first manufacturer to release a USB C powered portable monitor, they will be calling it the ASUS MB169C+. The new upgrade comes with the same 15.6-inch screen size, 1080p resolution IPS panel, the same metal design and weight (as well as the same thickness; 800-grams & 8.5mm) as the latter model.

ASUS states that the new USB Type-C monitor works well with any machine and any platform that can support the connector. They haven’t stated a price yet but we assume that it may be close to the previous model’s retail price ($290).
