A design firm Teehan+Lax has created a new method to use the Google Street View, this method is called Hyper-lapse photography “a technique combining time-lapse and sweeping camera movements typically focused on a point-of-interest – has been a growing trend on video sites.” See a sample video below of an already created time-lapse, you can create your own Google Street View time-lapse of your journey now, head over to their official web interface to get started.
